Ela just arrived in Sydney, new country, new language, new challenges to face and with that comes a luggage full of clothes, dreams and insecurities. The video shows how she navigates homesickness as she tries to find her way through this new environment.
Glimpses of her childhood reminds her that through all of it, she’s never alone. She never has been. She has herself.
The video is accompanied by a physical letter. Yes, the very same one she holds in the video. This element is meant to draw the audience in, inviting them to feel personally connected and part of the story.
The QR code included with the letter leads to this section of my portfolio, offering deeper context and the opportunity to explore more of my work.
Crafting the idea
This video was created as the Major Project for my Bachelor of Film and Video.
The concept emerged from a desire to challenge myself creatively while showcasing some of my favourite storytelling tools. Combining music, cinematography, and motion graphics into a single piece.
With the artist’s colour palette and visual identity in mind, every element was thoughtfully crafted to stay true to their style and reinforce the essence of their brand.
